Illinois has seen tremendous increase in foreign investment over the last few years. Countries like Britain, Japan, Germany and China were among the countries that most investing in Illinois in 2023. By that time, the amount reached over USD $13.2 billion across the agribusiness, manufacturing and manufacturing areas in Illinois all by itself.
Since 2014, over $1 billion in incentives has been distributed under Illinois Reimagining Energy and Vehicles program to firms that supply electric vehicles and renewable energy production. State officials in Indiana are encouraging employers to offer higher pay and benefits as a way to keep child care workers employed nationwide as they face a shortage of work. The decision comes after the closing of a children's care center in Bronzeville which struggled to retain staff.
